Giggs is awarded honorary degree

Ryan Giggs has been awarded an honorary degree for his 

contribution to sport and charities causes. 

Giggs, 34, was made a master of arts by the University of Salford in the Ceremony at the Lowry Theater.

Collecting his award, he said: "I'm really pleased to accept this degree. I grew up in Salford and It's been a big part of my life for 30 years, so It's great to be a part of Salford University now."

Giggs has won 10 Premier League, 4 FA Cup, 2 Champions League and 2 League Cups.

Ronaldo surgery 'successful'

Cristiano Ronaldo underwent surgery today (7 July) on his right ankle.

The operation was performed by Professor C. Niek van Dijik at the Academic Medical Centre in Amsterdam and initial indications are that the procedure was successful.

Cristiano will begin his convalescence under the direction of club medical staff and an estimation of his return to full fitness will be possible following a review by the specialist in one month.

Ronaldo will decide their future - Real or United

Ramon Calderon has made public his desire to carry on Cristiano Ronaldo to Real Madrid. 

"If United doesn't want to sell Ronaldo, they can do it, but Ronaldo has said that he would be at the Spanish Giant." said Calderon.

 "If Ronaldo wants to leave Manchester, he'll leave. If he wants to stay, he'll stay." he told newspaper AS.

Calderon added that United should be 'proud' to let Ronaldo join the Spanish Champions, a club the winger has admitted he is keen to play for at same stage in his career. 

The Spanish giants are rumored to be preparing a package to bring Ronaldo to the Bernabeu, but Calderon has said that Real will not go against United's wishes. 

"I don't know if he will play for Real Madrid next season. We will only do what Manchester United want to do with the player," said Ramon Calderon 

"We are very good friends with United and they have said many times that they don't want to sell the player, so we can't do anything. If they say sometime that they would like to sell we will be there and will ask," added Calderon

Calderon and United chief-executive David Gill will come face-to-face on Monday at the European Club Association general assembly in Switzerland for the first time since rumours of Ronaldo's departure surfaced.

Ronaldo is "Not for Sale"

Manchester United had said through their web about Ronaldo that:  "We are not listening to offers."

"In the next few days, he will reveal his future" says the winger.

"In about three days, I will announce my future with OT because my tournament is over" added Ronaldo. 

 On these days, Ronaldo has said that he will have a surgery on his foot, because of a nuisance since last March. 

"I have had a small problem for about three months. I'll have an operation and then a good period for recovery." says Ronaldo.

Park Ji-Sung to miss out the Olympics

The United's player 27-year-old midfielder has been ruled out of South Korea squad because of injury.

"Unfortunately, Park will not be selected for the Olympics," said coach Park Sung-Hwa.

United's pre-season starts on July 7 and it would be difficult for the player to come back and play well with the actual team.

Manchester United are the most valuable football club in the world, according to Forbes magazine.

United's value is US$1,800m and Real Madrid at US$1,285m, While Arsenal is the third at US$1,200m. 

Liverpool are up to fouth place and Celtic are the only scottish team. 

Meanwhile, David Beckham has replaced Ronaldinho as the world's player highest-paid, after joining Los Angeles Galaxy, earning US$48,9m per year.

Manchester United has won his 17th Premier League title, after winning 2 - 0 against Wigan.

On 33th minute, Cristiano Ronaldo scores his 31th goal in the premier league. Emile Heskey wasted Wigan's best chance with a second half-header. And Substitute Ryan Giggs scores the second goal for United with a cool finish from Rooney's pass 10 minutes from time. 

Ryan Giggs lifted the premier league trophy, before thousand of Manchester United supporters inside the JJB Stadium for celebrate his second succesive title.
